Carolina Herrera’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection was a visual masterpiece.
Drawing inspiration from flowers, Herrera went a step further to create stellar, beautifully crafted and mind-bending, optical-illusion pieces, that made her show one of the most exquisite of Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week 2014.
Using a palette of spring colors including reds, bright neon, yellow and neutrals, Herrera let the graphic prints of her collection take center stage.
Presenting a modern art deco take on flowers, back-to-back abstract floral prints came gliding down the tree-flanked runway.
Herrera used an array of new fabrics—such as foam squares and rectangle embroideries sewn on to a ball gown skirt. The look was made further distinctive by the tile-like mosaic detail she created by deconstructing the flower print. The result was a three dimensional stunner.
Herrera’s collection also had more classic pieces for the less fashion adventurous buyer. Timeless pieces included an orange evening gown with a matching waist belt and a yellow short sleeved A-line dress.
The Carolina Herrera Spring/Summer 2015 collection had something for every woman and was superb.
