Dennis Basso Takes Us on a Magical Trip to the French Rivera for Spring 2015

Dennis Basso

Dennis Basso’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection took us to the 1960’s French Riviera.

Known for his expertise in making the finest furs, Basso’s collection boasted a lavish ensemble of fur deemed fit for the most extraordinary of divas. And it was, as he dedicated the collection to his late friend, entertainer Joan Rivers.

Drawing inspiration from the luxury resorts of the Mediterranean in the ‘60s, Basso transported us to another time and place. Using a primarily white and pastel palette, Basso’s looks were clean, breezy, sophisticated and chic.

His ultra-luxe collection featured a variety of fabrics and textures, including linen, mesh, organza, chiffon, alligator and some of the finest furs in the world.

What was most interesting was the unexpected—and innovative, admixture of ensembles–a sable fur and alligator jacket worn with a silver romper, or a broadtail and sable fur cape paired with a knit dress. Fur was shown for both day and night .

His evening looks were quite stunning as he focused on florals, highlighted by delicate embroideries.

Basso closed the show with a breathtaking hand-embroidered, floral, mesh, gazar gown.

Dennis Basso’s Spring/Summer 2015 is sure to be a hit with fashionistas and jetsetters next spring.
