Monique Lhuillier Brings Light into Spring/Summer 2015

Esteemed couturier Monique Lhuillier dazzled the crowd with her magical Spring/Summer 2015 collection.

Getting her inspiration from the sunrise of Harbor Point, Bahamas, where she recently vacationed, Lhuillier’s collection was luminous and iridescent.

The show began with the daytime looks which could be worn as separates. Rompers, structured shorts and peplum tops, adorned with flower petals and beads, were shown in a myriad of soft pastel colours.

Having been inspired by light, Lhuillier was able to experiment with different fabrics including liquid satin, reflective lamé, holographic paillettes, and coated mesh.

As the show progressed it evolved into Lhuillier’s specialty, evening wear. The designer kept the “light” theme as we observed some amazing pieces that were truly inspired. We saw the continuation of the intricate beading, and flower petals on the beautiful evening gowns, but what was most impressive was Lhuillier use of pastel-colored tulle layers beneath the gowns, which resulted in a multidimensional look.

The luminous Monique Lhuillier show closed with reflective confetti that descended from the sky.
