Carolina Herrera is Out to Sea for Fall Winter 2015 at NYFW

While most designers are looking to the past for inspiration when dreaming up their next collection, Carolina Herrera is looking to the future. At least, that’s what she did for her Fall Winter 2015 collection at NYFW. More specifically, Herrera found her inspiration through the exploration of water. It’s color, movement, and even its texture all came to life on Herrera’s runway. Swirling hues of black, gray, and of course blue, swept across gowns, dresses, and a fur scarf. A pop of red moved through some pieces, still employing the wave element. Silk jersey fabrication gave a wet, luxurious look that stayed in theme. Tweed was also prevalent, as was cashmere, fur, and soft mohair. The collection was truly exquisite.
