North Africa Meets Europe for Edun Fall Winter 2015 at NYFW

Creative Director Danielle Sherman of Edun explored the cusp of European and North African culture for her Fall Winter 2015 collection at NYFW. The brand uses Africa as its central point of manufacturing, so it’s only natural that it would find sources of inspiration from there as well. Tapestries based on traditional North African design came through, juxtaposing beautifully with classic European shapes and cuts. Pieces that employed the unique tapestry-inspired patterns were standouts, but a great deal of color blocking was prevalent throughout a number of the designs. Color palette remained quite neutral with black, white, and grey, and pops of red and blue were thrown into the mix. The collection as a whole was exquisite.
