A Wedding Fit for the Future Queen

Kate Middleton's Wedding Dress

Katherine Middleton finally revealed to the world a dress fit for a modern day Princess. On Friday, April 29, 2011 at Westminster Abbey, London we all marveled at the Sarah Burton for her Alexander McQueen creation. A classic satin and lace dress with clean lines and a gorgeous silhouette that will change the face of bridal wear for years to come. This long sleeved, cinched waist ensemble was accompanied by a vintage 1963 Cartier “Halo” Tiara, Robinson Pelham, diamond drop earrings and Alexander McQueen pumps.

Meanwhile, the Royal guests put on a show of their own. With an unspoken competition of “the hats,” women from around the world attend the wedding in the most sculptural and extravagant toppers money can buy. British milliner Philip Treacy designed hats for Victoria Beckham, Zara Phillips and Princess Beatrice, William’s 22-year-old cousin. The sea of 1,900 guests displayed an eclectic color palette of subtle neutrals and pastels, elegant navys and blacks and bright pops of color, especially royal blue.
