Alexander McQueen’s Sarah Burton “Crowned” with Approval from Top Designers

Kate Middleton Wedding Gown

After being bestowed with the coveted honor of designing Kate Middleton’s wedding gown, Alexander McQueen’s designer Sarah Burton is receiving the royal treatment in the fashion world.

The world’s top designers expressed laudatory praise for the whimsical satin and lace dress. Oscar de la Renta raved that it was “beautiful,” Carolina Herrera declared it “absolutely perfect…I give her an 11 (out of 10),” and Isaac Mizrahi enthusiastically noted that it “really flattered her figure.” Mark Badgley said the dress was “perfection” and added that he and his partner James Mischka had “goosebumps.” Giorgio Armani, Francisco Costa and Donatella Versace rounded off the exceedingly impressive list of designers who applauded the regal elegance and modern flair of Middleton’s dress.

Described by many as reminiscent of Grace Kelly, the major success and popularity of Kate’s romantic, custom-made dress has been an exciting development for Alexander McQueen’s new Creative Director, especially after the devastation of his tragic suicide in 2010. Burton is currently a top contender for Dior’s John Galliano replacement and will surely be courted not only by top fashion houses but also by future brides who admire her aesthetic genius.
