Designers “Resort” to Boho-Chic ’70′s Fashion Trends for 2012 Resort Collections

Designers have been channeling their inner hippies lately with their vacation-ready fashions for 2012 Resort — hitting stores this winter.

Major iconic fashion houses, such as Chanel, Valentino, Missoni, Givenchy, Chloe, Roberto Cavalli, Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Max Azria and Elie Tahari, are displaying florals, paisleys, dazzling pops of color, embroideries, eye-catching prints, embellishments, maxidresses and caftans. These creations are perfect for just about anyone — from fashionistas to models on the runway, celebrities on the red carpet to flower children at Woodstock.

Avatar beauty Zoe Saldana illustrated this trend at “The American Friends of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry” charity event at the Santa Barbara Polo Racquet Club on July 9. The actress sported a dress from Chloe’s 2012 Resort Collection with Valentino espadrilles, resulting in a stunning bohemian ensemble that was elegant, chic and flirty.

Another designer who embraced “Boho-Chic” clothing for her 2012 Resort collection is Rachel Zoe, whose latest line features a distinct 70′s throwback with the long dresses and floral prints that Nicole Richie made so fashionable years ago.

The “Summer of Love” has indeed been replicated this year — fashionistas everywhere are drooling over the flowy, effortless, flattering and breezy “Boho-Chic” styles that are now popular once again.
