Hi Lives of Style audience! It’s Michael–and we are heading in to fall.

Katherine from Santa Monica wants some tips about going gray. There is a way to look glamorous while blending in some of your natural grays.  I’m leading off my “Mondays with Michael” blog with it today.

Hi Michael,
My hair is naturally gray and I don’t mind the color on my skin tone but I might be open to a new color.  And my hair right now looks too thin.  Is there anything I can do to spice up my look?
Thanks!
Katherine

Hi Katherine,

Thanks for asking.

You have a blank canvas with which you can paint!

Gray hair can look very glamorous and sexy if you know how to do it.  A lot of women are transitioning to their natural hair color earlier.

Turning wiry grays into a silvery blond helps hair appear thicker and silkier. Instead of coloring grays completely I suggest “staining,” which transforms them into natural-looking highlights.

And gray hair is a colorist’s best friend. You can do so much with gray hair because the base doesn’t need to be lifted. If you’ve always wanted to be a blonde but couldn’t because your base would turn orange, now you can.

Have fun!
