A Very Dior Christmas

Dreaming of a white Christmas? How about a Dior one? This year Christian Dior was commissioned to decorate the windows of fabled Parisian department store Printemps Haussmann. The main attraction of the festive windows is a collection of bespoke dolls, known as The Poupettes, who are wearing exact replicas of famous Dior designs. Designs include miniature versions of highlights from the collection–from Raf Simons’ debut dresses for the fashion label to the celebrated Bar suit that was introduced in the first summer fashion show in 1947.

A total of seventy-four dolls were handcrafted by artisans for the Printemps windows. They are wearing twelve different outfits along with miniature accessories, including handbags, hats, and fascinators. To top it off, the French fashion house has created an original collection of items, including silk scarves and snowglobes, which are available exclusively at Printemps Haussmann.  Dior ambassador–Marion Cotillard, unveiled the entire collection last weekend while switching on the Christmas lights at Printemps Haussmann. She looked très chic in a fall 2012 black dress coat from Christian Dior, replete with black satin pumps and a wavy up-do.
