Happy New Year Lives of Style audience!  It’s Michael! Since it’s winter I’ve received numerous questions about what to do in cold weather with your color.  I wanted to answer Michelle’s question today.

Hi Michael,
Happy New Year!! Should I be thinking about brightening up our hair in the winter?
Thank you in advance!

Hi Michelle,

Thanks for asking. It’s a great question because most people think that you shouldn’t brighten up your hair in the winter months.

However, it’s a fallacy to let your hair go dull during the dismal times of the year.  So always brighten up your hair. You can make it subtle. You wouldn’t make it a California blonde but you can subtly “cheer” up your hair. The best way to do this is to do paper thin highlights.  They lighten and illuminate your look.

Try it and let us know how it works for you!

Remember anyone can send in questions so please email me at michael@livesofstyle.com

Until next Monday!
