Monique Lhuillier’s Fall/Winter 2013 Collection!

Monique Lhuillier and Host Elisabeth Laurence

Monique Lhuillier’s Fall 2013 line was inspired by opulence and drama. The collection expresses an eclectic color range, from rich jewel tones, like oxblood and amethyst, to neutral tones, like white and ivory. Backstage, when we asked the designer about her weaving of different textures and sparkles into certain pieces, Lhuillier shared that “it just felt right.” As the models strutted down the runway, we were presented with patterned cut-outs in suede leather, crushed velvet, and satin. Lace pants were paired with structured tulle to convey a dramatic, “modern interpretation of evening.” Lhuillier followed through with this interpretation in her shoe line, which also used lace. On the whole, Monique Lhuillier’s collection this season is one emphasizes a classic sense of luxury.
