Happy Monday Lives of Style audience!  It’s Michael!  I want to kick off with Regina’s question this week.

Hi Michael,

My hair is very dry. I highlight my hair and I use heat on it when I blow it out and use a flat iron. What can I do before I color my hair if I have breakage?

Hi Regina,

Thanks for your email! Your hair can get brittle if you are over bleaching or over using heat.  It’s important to let your colorist know what’s really going on. I’ve always suggest cutting after coloring so your hair cutter can clean up the hair once it’s been done.

I want to mention that if you are changing your hairstyle then you should always color afterward.  The colorist needs to see what you’ve done so they can make it perfect. I want to see where the style is so I can highlight specifically to it.

Anyone can send in questions so please email me at michael@livesofstyle.com

Until next Monday!
