A New Royal is Born in Style!

Yesterday, 22 July, Kate Middleton and Prince William welcomed a baby boy in style.

The palace released a statement shortly after the birth of the royal baby stating, “Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cambridge, was safely delivered of a son at 4.24 p.m.”

The future King of Britain weighed 8 lbs. 6 oz at birth, and his father William, Duke of Cambridge, was present for the birth.

New father, Prince William stated,” “We could not be happier,” when asked about the birth of his son.  The Prince will accompanying his wife and son when they leave the hospital—who are said to be doing very well after the delivery.

Congratulations were received from heads of state and leaders from around the world.

President Obama and the First Lady send their best wishes to the royal family “Michelle and I are so pleased to congratulate The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the joyous occasion of the birth of their first child.”

Prince Charles said, “Both my wife and I are overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild. It is an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine and we are so thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy.”

The newborn is third in line for the reign following his grandfather, Prince Charles, and his father, Prince William.
