The British Fashion Awards–Christopher Kane Tops a Night of Beauty and Elegance

Scottish designer Christopher Kane took the top prize at the British Fashion Awards on Monday when he was awarded the Womenswear Designer Award, presented to him by his close associate, Donatella Versace. Kane was in elite company as other winners and nominees included names such as Prada and Marc Jacobs.
Among the night’s biggest winners were Christopher Bailey, who won the Menswear designer of the year award for Burberry, which also won for Brand of the Year. The model of the year award went to Edie Cambell. The award for international designer of the year went to Prada and the Red Carpet Designer of the year award went to Erdem.

On the red carpet Alexa Chung turned heads in her white dress, the three-time British style award winner later presented the award to One Direction’s Harry Styles. Other notable stars on the red carpet included Rita Ora, who arrived in a daring silver gown and Rosie Huntington-Whitely in an eye-popping red and black ensemble on a night dedicated to honoring British Fashion.
