2014 SAG Awards Style Roundup

SAG Awards

Whether on trend or making creative choices, the women of Hollywood made a statement at the 2014 SAG Awards that went a little something like, “Watch out Hollywood. We look good. And we’re taking control.”

It was an elegant, star-studded night on the red carpet this year at the 2014 SAG Awards with the prevalence of navy blue gowns on the majority of Hollywood’s most gorgeous women.

Stars to watch included: Jennifer Garner in a strapless, belted gown by Max Mara; Amy Adams in a one shoulder, belted gown, with an extremely sexy cut-out on the shoulder strap–by Antonio Berardi; and Julia Louis-Dreyfus in a basic, one shoulder, black and navy color-blocked frock by Monique Lhuillier.

From these women, it is easy to see that showing at least one shoulder is hot this season, and “belting it” should always be an option to highlight those sexy feminine curves.

Paving your own path in the fashion world, when you know how to work it like celebs Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lawrence, and Kerry Washington, is never a bad idea.

Julia Roberts made a glowing statement in a pink V-neck pantsuit by Valentino; Jennifer Lawrence literally sparkled in a sequined strapless gown by Christian Dior, that hugged every one of those curves that we love so much; and Kerry Washington pushed the envelope by flaunting her baby bump in a high-waisted black skirt and pink three-quarter sleeve, crop top by Prada.

The “sweetheart” winner of the evening was hands-down Lupita Nyong’o, the star of Steven McQueen’s 12 Years A Slave, in a stunning turquoise gown featuring an intricately designed, turquoise, chest piece of flowers by Gucci. This dress goes to show that less really is more.
