Marc by Marc Jacobs Gets Reawakened at NYFW!

Marc Jacobs passed the street-style torch to British designers Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley last May and gave them full reign over his label Marc by Marc Jacobs. The duo debuted their collection at New York Fashion Week on Tuesday, steering clear of Lincoln Center and heading for a pier downtown that resembled a bright and colorful skate park. The designing duo breathed life back into the line, which fell into a slump over recent years. Many pieces featured sharp tailoring and severe silhouettes, such as a pea green dress over black tulle, topped with a menswear-inspired olive green jacket. A great deal of the pieces were very bold and logo-centric. Opening looks were screen-printed and featured motocross references such as “Bunny Hop” and “Revolution.” The bold looks certainly made a statement. A more neutral standout of the collection was a gray menswear inspired jumpsuit with a cinched in belt at the waist, topped with an oversized shawl tied into a bow over the shoulders.
