Get Sophisticated With Ralph Rucci’s Fall Winter 2014 Collection

Ralph Rucci brought a much smaller and streamlined fall winter 2014 collection to New York Fashion Week this season. The designer strayed away from overt drama and kept his looks simple and refined. Rucci avoided an overabundance of vibrant patterns and stuck with a cleaner palette. Black was the beating heart of the designs, but the occasional pop of offbeat colors is what got the blood flowing throughout the collection and brought it to life. Scarlet, pea green, and even hints of lavender added great variety and motion to the collection. There was a selection of chic menswear inspired suits and coats, contrasted by an even greater selection of feminine knee-length dresses. Rucci’s knack for detail came through across several pieces that featured intricate work over sheer tops and heavy blazers and coats. Highlights of the show were a monochrome red suit with matching overcoat, and a knee-length black dress with bell sleeves paired up with red suede boots.
