FIRST LOOK: Nicolas Ghesquiere’s Debut Campaign for Louis Vuitton

Nicolas Ghesquiere tapped three world-renowned photographers to shoot his first fashion campaign for Louis Vuitton back in May, and now the highly anticipated images have been unveiled.

Bruce Weber, Annie Leibovitz, and Juergen Teller shot what Vuitton characterized as being four “contemporary heroes” – actress Charlotte Gainsbourg and models Liya Kebede, Freja Beha Erichsen, and Jean Campbell. Also included in the Teller shots was a low-slung silver Maserati concept car. Each photographer was given free reign to employ their own signature styles against their personal interpretations of the collection.

The new campaign, dubbed “Series 1,” breaks the familiar mold of the standard advertisement and traverses into the upper echelons of art. Weber, Leibovitz, and Teller also each contributed a one-minute video for the Vuitton website and social media presence.

The fall campaign will make its editorial debut in various August magazines, beginning on July 3rd in the UK.
